Ten by Ten is the story of the Sierra Foothills. A nod to its gold mining history, it's now a region rich in grape growing and winemaking. Newsome Harlow, a pioneer of the Sierra Foothills wine scene, wanted to create a label inspired by the regions former story. It also needed to be distinct from its namesake wine brand, Newsome Harlow. The design evokes a common tool of the miner, a gold sifting classifier, depicted in a variety of artistic ways. Look closely at the Cabernet Sauvignon, the leading wine, and you'll notice the repetition of the name Ten by Ten cleverly designed in. It was agreed that the success of the design is its ability to communicate a background story of gold but not to the detriment of the real story of wine.
